The nature and purposes of research


Primary research
Primary research is information you have procured first hand for the specific purpose of your research. An example of primary research is a questionnaire or a survey that you hand out to as many people as possible to get fair and varied answers.


Secondary research
Secondary research is data you have collated and summarised from existing research, examples of this is the internet or newspapers.
